Nana wrote her book to thank all the people who helped her to become what she is. While reading it, we learn that her father would have preferred a boy, that her parents often clashed and that they deprived themselves of food for their daughters during the war.
You, the Artist – Report – In spite of her particular appearance and a damaged vocal cord, Nana made her career in the whole world. Nana is also an engaged artist.

Sound excerpt from "Over the rainbow" by Judy Garland. This song represents the moment when Nana began to dream.
Sound excerpt from "Habanera de Carmen" by Maria Callas. She became a symbol for having encouraged her to sing what she likes.

Report – Several of her friends pay tribute to her : Charles Aznavour, Stéphane Bern, Farah Pahlavi, Mireille Darc, Claudia Cardinale and Régine.
Nana speaks about her first meetings with famous people and about stage fright that still haunts her.

Lénou joins them. She regrets having learned late that her mother had remade her life. She chose her nickname as a stage name and didn’t add the name of Mouskouri because she estimates that she must deserve it. Together, they sing "Try to remember".
The hostess concludes the interview touching on the passing of Jean-Claude Brialy, the one to whom Nana dedicated her book. For Nana, he was a positive person and he taught her that our memories make us exist.

    VIVEMENT DIMANCHE : NANA MOUSKOURI
    (Pres.: Michel Drucker)
Michel Drucker receives Nana Mouskouri. With her, he relates her career and speaks about the book she has just published "La fille de la chauve-souris" (The bat’s daughter). This book is the crowning of a 50 year career since the first time that Nana performed on stage, it was in 1957. The bat, it is her father’s nickname who played during the night. The host quotes some passages of the first chapter which is referred to the German occupation.

Cameo videotaped appearance of her sister Jenny who sacrificed herself so that Nana continues her singing lessons at the Conservatory. Jenny is the elder and felt that she had to protect her. Little girl, Nana dreamed to sing and had a firm will to succeed. She is proud that Nana is famous in the whole world, but Nana is initially her sister. After her farewell to the stage, Jenny wishes that they be able to live together, because they are separated for too long.

Nana speaks to us about her complicated relation with her mother who dreamed to sing, about her father projectionist who impassioned himself for the game. With emotion, she recalls their dilapidated home which was flooded everyday by the big rains.
The movie "The Wizard of Oz" has been a lesson for life. The movie songs and Greek folklore were her first musical influences. Nana sings excerpts from "Over the rainbow" and "Aïde to malono".

Report on Maria Callas. Excerpts of songs: "Casta diva", "Una voce poco fa" (1958) and "O mio babbino caro" (1965). France has been the first country where she stayed. And it is always from there that she left to go everywhere. Then, each country became a new school. At the time of her first exposure at the Olympia, in 1962, she sang in a George Brassens show.
