Nana joins the guests and explains that she has now been singing
for 40 years. She wishes to continue to sing as long as her voice
and her health will allow her to. She doesn’t believe that
the singer Céline Dion will take a long retirement and thinks
that a great singer should not be compared as better than another
singer, but rather it should be said that they are different from
each other.

LES FILS À PAPA
(interview with Érick Rémy)
It was Harry Belafonte who brought her to Quebec for the first time.
For her, it was a surprise to find out that some of her songs were
known. She continues her profession for 40 years and it has helped
her extrovert herself. She never thought of her age nor of the moment
when she will stop singing until the day she was asked about it.
She knows that one day she’ll have to stop, but she avoids
thinking about it. She owes everything to music and wishes to share
this happiness with her fans. (18 m 18 s)

LOUISE FORESTIER RENCONTRE NANA MOUSKOURI
(Pres.: Louise Forestier)
Nana is deputy at the European Parliament and representative for UNICEF.
Her attraction to music dates back to her childhood. She has been deeply
marked by the war. To sing and communicate with her public is a need.
The poets and the musicians of her beginnings were a gift to her. She
is not a composer, but she has her lyric writers and her musical influences.
Her return to Greece in 1984 represents a divine moment after which
she could have left the stage contentedly.
Clips from "Oh, happy day", "Song for Liberty" and
excerpt in concert from "Tu n’es plus là cet automne".

LINEHAN
(interview with Brian Linehan)
Montreal represents the place where began her long love story with
Canada. Toronto, it is the interview which she gave to the host twenty
years ago when for the first time, she really opened herself.
Nana considers the texts of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen as true poems.
She estimates herself blessed that intellectuals like Manos Hadjidakis
and Nikos Gatsos wrote for her.
The movie "Cinema Paradiso" is her story with her father
projectionist.
Nana does not forget the lesson that Maria Callas gave her and regrets
that she finished her life that way. Nana refuses to be considered
of her calibre and she defines herself simply as a singer.
Since the beginning, Nana seeks for Love and found it through song.
In life, there is much to learn and we never know enough to stop what
we do.
The meeting was pleasant. Nana is grateful with the host to move her
and make her think as much. She points out that it is marvellous to
meet people like him.
