In February 2025, "Guten Morgen, Sonnenschein" (Quand tu chantes), a song released in 1977, gained popularity thanks to the Netflix mini-series "Cassandra." To try to explain this success, a journalist published an interesting article about it. In her opinion, there's a long history between Nana and Germany. There, the fact that she's Mediterranean and sings in their language appeals to audiences. Whereas in France, there are many singers with accents, and songwriters are preferred to performers. On this subject, she pointed out that Nana was snubbed by the Victoires de la Musique awards (the French equivalent of the Grammy Awards in the United States and the ADISQ in Quebec). But that in Germany she received a Goldene Henne (The Golden Hen), one of the most prestigious media awards. And now, a year later, it's announced that Nana will receive the Victoires de la Musique Lifetime Achievement Award! The 41st annual ceremony, scheduled for February 13, 2026 at La Seine Musicale (Paris), was also broadcast live on television and radio. It was hosted by Cyril Féraud and Helena Noguerra, who had prepared five surprises for her: 1. To begin, a testimony from her close friend Line Renaud, presented over a montage of television clips. Line is impressed by everything Nana has accomplished. With her, Music was the true winner that night.
2. A projection of Serge Lama immediately took over. This loyal colleague from the world of Song sang "Une île" and reminded her how much he loves her. She has triumphed in the whole world and in his whole heart. 3. On stage, Quebec singer Isabelle Boulay performed "L’amour en héritage", a Nana hit. But that night, the lyrics took on a special meaning; despite all the time and distance traveled, it is Love that remains.
4. In turn, Valérie Lemercier and Vincent Dedienne performed "Quand on s'aime", a jazz duet that Nana sang with Michel Legrand. Just like in the original video, they put on their glasses as soon as the music began to swing. 5. And, unexpectedly, her friend and fellow countryman Nikos Aliagas joined her on stage to present her with the trophy. In his tribute, he described her as an artist of Lumiere who touches people's hearts. He said to her: «This honorary award not only recognizes your exceptional career, it also honors your dignity and your loyalty to the French public after all these years. You haven't changed, and you're still in their hearts.»
During these 20 minutes of surprises and tributes, Nana shared moments of intense emotion with the 6,000 spectators who gave her several standing ovations. She expressed her gratitude to France, which had taught her so much and had invited her to launch an international career. France has not forgotten her, and this award came at the perfect time.
